All Industries Engineering was engaged by the Gamuda–Laing O’Rourke Joint Venture to provide mechanical preventive maintenance and ongoing shift coverage for their automated CP Technology carousel system at the Eastern Creek precast facility. This carousel formed the core of segment production for the Sydney Metro Western Tunnelling Package, operating continuously to meet demanding production and delivery schedules.

Our team delivered structured preventative maintenance across all mechanical components of the carousel system, including rollers, conveyors, transfer stations, hydraulic systems, formwork interfaces, and mechanical drive assemblies. AIE also supplied experienced mechanical fitters to provide shift coverage, ensuring rapid response to breakdowns, minimising downtime, and maintaining optimal production output.

Working within a highly automated, high-volume precast environment, AIE’s responsibilities included:

• Routine mechanical inspections aligned with OEM requirements and CP Technology specifications

• Fault finding & breakdown repairs to maintain uninterrupted segment production

• Hydraulic maintenance, including troubleshooting, seal replacements, and system optimisation

• Conveyor, trolley & carousel component rebuilds to extend service life and ensure reliability

• Close coordination with electrical, PLC and controls teams to manage interface issues within the automated system

• Support to site supervision and production teams, providing technical guidance and engineering-led problem solving

• Shutdown and planned maintenance execution, including component change-outs and system adjustments

Our involvement contributed to smoother production cycles, reduced operational disruptions, and improved overall equipment performance throughout the project’s duration.
